Last night the monkey and I were talking about daddy. He likes to tell people how daddy got on a plane and flew away from him. When people ask where daddy is, he tells them that he is at work. We’ve focused on this since daddy left the first time. Daddy is at work, he’ll be home when he’s done. Recently I thought it would be good to give him a more accurate description of where daddy is – since mommy goes to work each day, but manages to come home at night. So we talk about how daddy got on a plane to go to work in Iraq, which is very far away, and that is why he can’t come home to see us each day. The monkey listens patiently to my description and then tells me simply, “Daddy is in MyRaq, not YourRaq.” 🙂
He’s been asking to go see dinosaurs for a while, and we’re lucky enough to have several parks in the area that feature dinosaurs, so we do go see them a lot. This weekend he decided that we couldn’t go to the regular spots to see them, instead we need to go to Disney World. Each morning he wakes up and says “Good morning Mommy, can we go to Disney World today to see dinosaurs?” Very cute. I think we’ll have to make the trip this weekend, but I’m not sure how many dinosaurs he’s going to see…
